Illustration of Paloma Blanca

The Paloma is the national cocktail of Mexico – and for good reason. The cocktail balances crispy bitterness of grapefruits with the light floral notes of agave tequila. A true thirst quencher. The cocktail is originally made with grapefruit soda, but this variation combines freshly squeezed juice of white grapefruits, golden agave syrup and sparkling water for a homely expression.

Ingredients:

50 ml 100% agave blanco tequila – we recommend Tequila Ocho
50 ml freshly squeezed grapefruit juice, preferably white grapefruit
20 ml dark agave syrup
10 ml freshly squeezed lime juice
40 ml sparkling water
1-2 slices of grapefruit

Serve in: Highball or large lowball glass.

Combine blanco tequila, grapefruit juice, agave syrup and lime juice in a highball or lowball glass. Add ice cubes and stir until the glass is frosty and slightly opaque. Add more ice cubes and top up with sparkling water. Garnish with a couple of grapefruit slices.

Ingredients:

20 ml elderflower liquor – we recommend St Germain.
100 ml dry Italian prosecco
40 ml sparkling water
1-2 lime wheels
6-7 freshly picked mint leaves

Serve in: White wine glass

Balancing salt and body with heat and acidity from chilies and lemon, this cocktail is a meal in itself. And with appearances on the big screen from Wes Anderson to Quentin Tarantino, you can be sure that this cocktail is the epitome of cool.

Ingredients:

50 ml vodka – we recommend Ketel One
100 ml tomato juice
10 ml freshly squeezed lemon juice
A pinch of salt and pepper
A good dash of Worcestershire sauce
A good dash of quality hot sauce
1 stick of celery

Dill pickles
